The robot KR 40 PA is four-axis industrial robot with jointed-arm kinematics for all point-to point tasks and for continuous-path controlled tasks. It occupies very little floor space and can be located very close to the workpiece on account of the special structural geometry. The rated payload of 40 kg on wrist, together with the maximum supplementary load of 20 kg on the robot arm, can be moved at maximum speed even with the arm fully extended. All the main bodies of the principal moving assemblies (with the exception of the arm) are made of cast light alloy. As a result, the robot has high natural frequency and is thus characterized by good dynamic performance with high resistance to vibration. The joints and gears are virtually free from backlash; all moving parts are covered. The axes are powered by brushless AC servomotors of plug_in design, which require no maintenance and offer reliable protection against overload. KR 40 PA is equipped with a controller, whose control and power electronics are integrated in a common cabinet.
